Opening of the Festival and tribute to Gabriel Fauré

The 67th season of the Stavelot Festival opens with an original work for quartet by young French composer Elise Bertrand. Born in Toulon in 2000, she trained first on the piano, then on the violin, before taking up composition. Today, despite her young age, her works are already attracting the attention of top performers. The Modigliani Quartet will then perform Beethoven's 7th Quartet, a work that has never been programmed at our festival! They will be joined by French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie to celebrate Gabriel Fauré's birthday with the 2nd Quintet.
