This concert of early music is devoted to composers and works from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The two cornetists, Luigi Zenobi and Giovanni Sansono, are true legends of the cornetto, and were both knighted by an emperor. Luigi Zenobi, a virtuoso renowned for the delicacy of his playing, was born in Ancona in the mid-16th century and was employed by Maximilian II, Emperor of Austria. Giovanni Sansoni, cornetist and composer, was born in Venice in 1593. He became the inspiration for Viennese composers in the early 17th century and was called to the Austrian court by Emperor Ferdinand.

Program :
Works by Riccardo Rognoni, Emanuel Adriaenssens, Luzzasco Luzzaschi, Giovanni de Macque, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Antonio Bertali, Giovanni Valentini, Johann Jacob Froberger and Johan Joseph Fux.
