Toon Fret studied in Brussels, Paris, Maastricht and Basel, and was a prizewinner in the major Belgian competitions during his studies. His activities as a soloist and chamber musician, mainly with the Oxalys and Het Collectief ensembles, have taken him to festivals and the most important international venues. While he loves the chamber music of the Belle Epoque, his repertoire also takes him from the medieval period to contemporary music. He has already made almost 20 recordings. He teaches the flute at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, the Conservatorium Leuven and the Pôle de Bourgogne - Dijon.
