Violin

Born in Brussels in 1986, Lorenzo Gatto began studying the violin at the age of 5. At the age of 11 he entered the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (class of Véronique Bogaerts), where he graduated with the highest distinction. He went on to perfect his skills with the great masters. He won second prize and the Audience Prize at the 2009 Queen Elisabeth Competition. He has made numerous recordings, including the complete Beethoven sonatas with pianist Julien Libeer. Voted Rising Star, he performs on the great international stages: Wiener Musikverein, Cité de la Musique in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam... In chamber music, he can be found alongside highly reputed partners. He plays a 1698 Joachim Stradivarius.
